True Purpose: Where the Ego Meets the Soul (Erin Sarika Delaney)

September 28, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Many people are asking, “What is my purpose? What is it that I am truly meant to be doing? What is my highest offering and how can I genuinely make a difference at a time when the world most seems to need it?”  Erin Sarika Delaney, a leading expert in the field of guiding others to the path of the heart to discover their true life purpose, will lead us in an exploration of the ego and the soul. She’ll discuss how these two important aspects of ourselves collaboratively work together to manifest our true purpose in life—that precise place where the ego meets the energy of the soul.

About Erin Sarika Delaney

Erin is a speaker, published author, and masterful Dream Coach® and True Purpose Coach®. She has been described as a “powerful analyst of the soul” whose light-hearted yet focused guidance supports people in transforming the blocks that hold them back from knowing and manifesting their true purpose and life’s dreams.

Throughout her own life Erin has been exploring the inner realm of purpose and following her dreams. Holding an M.A. in the Expressive Arts from Lesley University, her search has led her in a variety of directions — from working with children at Mother Teresa’s day camps in the Bronx to teaching creative writing in Mexico City; from working on a farm in southern France to studying dance and sacred ritual in Bali; from teaching expressive movement in psychiatric hospitals and delinquent teen homes in Kentucky to living at an ashram in the Catskill Mountains of New York. No matter where the path leads, her secret is to listen to the wisdom of the soul and follow the call of the heart.

She is a co-author in the recently published book, “Incredible Life,” written by 20 experts in the personal development field. You can find out more about Erin at her website, www.erindelaney.org.

Erin’s Coaching Suggestion

To begin to explore that special place where your ego and soul connect:

1)      Think about three specific times in your life when you have felt the most aligned and/or fulfilled.

2)      Write in detail how you felt during those experiences. What was so meaningful about each of them?  What was it about each experience that made you  feel alive and content?

3)      Identify the common thread in those experiences by looking for patterns and themes.

4)      With that common thread in mind, write a sentence (a working purpose statement) that best defines the work you do in the world:  “My purpose is to_______________________ .”

5)      Make choices that are in alignment with that statement.

This exercise, though driven by the ego (conscious mind), will help you begin to discern your life purpose and act accordingly.

Overcoming Underearning… and then what? (Barbara Stanny)

September 14, 2010 by · 2 Comments

Do you chronically underestimate your earning potential?  Do you have a high tolerance for low pay?  Barbara Stanny, the Leading Authority on Women and Money, talks with Jory and Beth about the biggest mistake women make concerning money. Her five essential steps to financial independence bring a message of hope and empowerment to those who struggle with underearning.  Barbara also speaks to those of our listeners who sense there’s more to success than making lots of money.  She discusses how to merge a higher income with a higher calling and announces her brand new seminar, Sacred Success™.  Listen and learn how Barbara beautifully blends financial success with making a significant difference in the lives of others.

About Barbara Stanny

Barbara Stanny is a woman on a mission–a mission to motivate women to become financially empowered. Barbara grew up relying on her father (the ‘R’ of H&R Block), then her husband, to manage her money.  A devastating financial crisis became her wake-up call.  Her first book, Prince Charming Isn’t Coming, grew out of her interviews with financially savvy women. Her next two books, Secrets of Six Figure Women and Overcoming Underearning®, focused on  helping women go from financial survival to financial stability. Her current focus is on helping women move from stability to affluence with a new body of work she calls Sacred Success™.  Barbara defines Sacred Success™ as doing your Soul’s work for your own bliss and the benefit of others while being richly rewarded.

Barbara’s background in business, her years as a journalist, her Master’s Degree in psychology, her extensive research, and her personal experience with money give her a unique perspective and make her the foremost expert on women’s financial issues.

Barbara’s Coaching Suggestion

Barbara suggests that we think of our earliest memory of money and freeze it in our minds like a photograph.  Now ask:  what was going on in my life at that time?  The answer to that question will give us a wealth of information regarding our beliefs about money.

Barbara’s Quotes for the Day

“Go where you fear because that’s how you grow.”  ~Barbara Stanny

“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
~Frederick Buechner

Healing the Wounds That Hold You Back from Your Greatness (Jeffrey Van Dyk)

September 8, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Jeffrey Van Dyk, PCC, will help you learn the hidden keys that can unlock your greatness and help you take a giant leap into the joyful work you’re meant to do in the world.  Jeffrey is a thought leader in a new paradigm that’s emerging–a paradigm upon which coaching is built. You are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole.

But if you’re like most people, you don’t always feel that way. There may be parts of your personality you’d rather hide from the world, thank you very much!

Were you to hide, however, you (and the world) would be losing a lot.  Each time you brush a part of yourself away, you “cloak” your power and tether yourself to your smallness.

The good news is you can transform your darkest parts and deepest wounds into your greatest strengths. Beth and I will ask our guest about that transformational process in this week’s interview.  We always learn something when we’re with Jeffrey–he’s had an amazing impact on our lives. It’s our honor and pleasure to share him with you!

About Jeffrey Van Dyk

Jeffrey Van Dyk is a leader in the coaching industry and has helped hundreds of people worldwide find their higher purpose.  With his business partner, Suzanne Falter-Barns, he helps conscious entrepreneurs package their purpose into a powerful online platform to bring their message to the world.  Jeffrey has nearly two decades of experience in training and development, having worked in high tech before moving into the professional coaching arena. While at Microsoft, Jeffrey worked personally with leaders such as Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Peter Jennings, Ariel Sharon and Jacques Chirac. Jeffrey is president emeritus of the International Coach Federation’s San Francisco chapter and trains coaches worldwide as faculty of the True Purpose Institute, Dream Coach University, and through his own events at the Spiritual Marketing Quest.

You can find more information on Jeffrey and what he is doing at www.SpiritualMarketingQuest.com.

Jeffrey’s Coaching Suggestions

1)      If you’re feeling blocked as you attempt to “step into your greatness,” and you notice some discomfort, take a moment and sit with it.  Try to discern what the resistance is all about through journaling and/or meditation.

2)      Also, if you engage in spiritual practices and feel connected to some form of spiritual guidance, ask that guidance about the block.  Explore questions like:  What truth am I not seeing here and why is this showing up right now?

As Jeffrey points out, our entire interview is one big coaching suggestion….  Listen and learn!

Jeffrey’s Quotes for the Day

From the movie Phoebe in Wonderland:

“At a certain point in your life, probably when too much of it has gone by, you will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are – especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful ‘normals’ and you will say to yourself ‘but I am this person’ and in that statement – that correction – there will be, a kind of love.”  (Miss Dodger)

“It’s never too late to be the person you might have been. “   ~George Eliot
