Purpose, Prosperity, and Commitment

May 10, 2011 by · 2 Comments

What comes to mind when you hear the word “prosperity”?  Probably money and lots of it, but what about good health, rich relationships, and work you enjoy?  What if you included them in your definition—and led a deliciously prosperous life?

Close your eyes and imagine.

Lovely vision, isn’t it?

Author and speaker Edwene Gaines designates finding and following your divine purpose as the fourth Spiritual Law of Prosperity.  Using the expanded definition of the word, she says we must find our purpose and follow it with commitment if we want to live truly prosperous lives.

Our dreams, our visions, and discernment of our divine purpose help us become who we’re meant to be and achieve what we’re meant to do.

“The greatest achievement was at first, and for a time, a mere dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs.  Dreams are the seedlings of realities.”  ~James Allen

“Where there is no vision (divine guidance), the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

“Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put into every heart.”  ~Rumi

As a business owner, do you know whom you’re meant to serve and how you’re meant to serve them?  If you’re not clear on your divine purpose, it will be difficult—if not impossible—for you to make the biggest, most meaningful difference you’re meant to make.

Find your purpose.  Follow through with commitment.

And enjoy abundance, prosperity, and peace.

To your success,

Three Steps to Living an Abundant Life (Caroll Schwartz)

March 23, 2011 by · 4 Comments

Do you believe it’s possible to have what your heart truly desires? Would it surprise you to know that it’s quick and easy to make any heartfelt dream come true?  Caroll Schwartz, the Practical Prosperity Coach, is living her life purpose every day by delivering the Divine message to the world, “Prosperity is your birthright!” During the past five years, Caroll has helped over 200 clients unlock the “secret” of HOW to create their life their way.  While her three-step prosperity formula is simple to understand, there ARE potential pitfalls. Caroll will share some amazing stories of how her clients made the power of the Law of Attraction work for them easily and reliably to create exactly what they want – usually in 30 days or less. And most importantly, she’ll share how to overcome internal blocks that can stop you from having the abundant, fulfilling and prosperous life you deserve.

About Caroll Schwartz

Caroll Michel Schwartz became a full-time professional coach in 2004, with a 30-year corporate background in marketing research, sales training and fundraising.

She is a Certified True Purpose Coach ™, who loves helping her clients discover what they are meant to be and do in life, as well as a Certified Dream Coach™ who guides individuals and groups through a step-by-step program that guarantees to make any life dream a reality.

In 2006, she developed her own specialty, Practical Prosperity Coaching, in which her clients use a simple 20-minutes-a-day formula that Caroll guarantees will make any goal a reality, usually in 30 days or less.

As an adjunct to coaching, Caroll regularly presents workshops and tele-seminars and is a published writer and editor.

She is a native Southern Californian who happily resides near the coast with her realtor husband, Rick, and stepson, Matthew.

Caroll’s Prosperity Coaching Suggestion

America’s Dream Coach and my mentor, Marcia Wieder, says that “Our beliefs are never neutral.  They either move us toward our dreams or they hold us back.”

The number one way you can make your Big, Juicy Dreams come true is to challenge your old, limiting beliefs and replace them with new, empowering beliefs that will inspire you and move you toward your dreams. There are many methods for transforming beliefs.  An easy one is simply to interview yourself – usually by journaling.

Start by examining ONE area of your life where you are experiencing less abundance than you would like – career, money, relationship, friendship, etc.  Ask yourself, “What do I believe about this?” And then make a list of EVERY “truth” you think you know about that topic.  Remember, these beliefs of yours are not really “The Truth.”  They are your interpretation of the truth, based on your past experiences or the past experiences others have shared with you.

Begin to question each of your beliefs in detail by answering questions such as, “How do I know that’s true (about money)?  Who says? Is it ALWAYS that way for EVERYONE?  Can I think of ANY exceptions to this rule?” This will cause a little uncertainty to open up your subconscious mind. Then ask yourself the Million Dollar Question: “What do I NEED to believe in order to succeed here?” The answer will help you create a new belief that will empower you to reach your goal instead of holding you back.

And the subconscious mind is reassured by “proof,” so you can look to either someone you know personally or even a public figure like Oprah who seems to be living according to the new, empowering belief you would like to adopt.  What abundance do they seem to have in THEIR life?  If it is possible for THEM to succeed, might it be possible for YOU, too? (The answer, of course, is “Of Course!”)

If you would like the list of 12 questions I give to my clients to help them quickly transform an old, limiting belief into a new, empowering belief, email caroll@practicalprosperitycoach.com with “Change Beliefs” in the subject line.

“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.” – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

Phantom, Passion, and Perseverance

“Mom, we have to drive to Dallas NOW!  An ice storm is coming, and my flight will get cancelled again!”  Hmmmm … It takes almost 20 hours to drive straight from Lynchburg to Dallas in good weather … “Jana, honey, that’s not going to work.  Let’s see what other options we have.”  Thus continued our epic effort to get my daughter to Phantom of the Opera auditions.  She’s wanted to play the role of Christine since she was 12 (seven years).  Giving up was not an option.

After an urgent plea to my dear husband Dave to come home immediately, we were off to Charlotte, NC to help Jana catch a 10:10pm flight to Dallas.  What we didn’t know was that the weather in Charlotte was worsening by the minute and that Jana’s flight would be canceled as we approached the airport.  Plan B….spend the night in Charlotte and catch a morning flight. Foiled.  Flight canceled as Jana was going through security.  Plan C…remain at the airport until a flight can make it out.  Foiled again.  Apparently Charlotte airport only had enough de-icer for the international flights.  Plan D– wend our way back to Lynchburg daughter in tow and have her fly to Dallas the next morning with the hope that, this time, the weather will cooperate.  Success at last!   Jana arrived in Dallas 52 hours later than she’d originally planned.  But made it she did, a day after general auditions were over.

Mercifully, the director of Phantom was so impressed by Jana’s fierce determination to audition (including an offer to sing to him over the phone from the Charlotte airport), that he allowed her to have a private audition with him and the choreographer an hour after her flight arrived in Dallas.  She sang and danced her heart out, making call-backs for that evening.  Now we wait.  Jana is one of three contenders for Christine.  The cast list goes up tomorrow evening.

I admire Jana’s fiery passion for the performing arts.  A theatre studies major at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, she is determined to turn her purpose and passion into her lifelong vocation.   Her willingness to do whatever it takes (including remaining hopeful as flight after flight was canceled and her luggage was lost) is exactly what she’ll need to be successful.   Her passion, purpose, and perseverance (combined with the power of prayer!) will sustain her during the challenging times.  They always have. I pray they always will.

I also admire my husband’s commitment and devotion to our family.  Not many men would battle an ice storm and lose a full day of work to help a young lady (his stepdaughter) have a shot at her dreams. I am surrounded by purposeful, passionate people in my life for which I am deeply grateful.

You bet I hope Jana lands the lead.  But even if she doesn’t, she is a star in my eyes and a role model for me to emulate.  For four months she prepared for the Phantom audition.  For eight years she’s worked arduously to become the best actress, singer, and dancer she can be.  I thank God for her gifts.  I thank God for her perseverance.  I thank God for the privilege of being her mom.

May she be an example and an encouragement to those of us who wish to fulfill our dreams!

PS  (6 hours later)  Jana just called.  Alas, she did not get the part.  Amazingly, she makes no excuses and has no regrets.  She sees the value in the experience of auditioning and hopes for another opportunity to perform the dream role of Christine.  What a terrific attitude.   I hope I’m mature enough to manifest such grace and aplomb when disappointments come my way!

Sugar Plums and Mangers

December 24, 2010 by · 2 Comments

What young girl wouldn’t welcome a magical journey through the Land of Snow?  Where snowflakes turn into dancing maidens?  Where the Snow King and Queen usher us and our handsome Nutcracker Prince into the Land of Sweets, Mother Ginger, and the Sugar Plum Fairy?  Most of us relish our once-upon-a-time dreams, especially at this magical time of year.  Imagination is a wondrous thing!

Yet sometimes we tend to mix together what’s real and what isn’t.  As our kids get older, some of us parents hasten to say things like, “Um… well, yes, honey.  You’re right.  Santa Claus, elves, and reindeer don’t really fly through the air delivering toys to girls and boys; but the spirit of Santa Claus—the spirit of giving—is very much alive. THAT is what we celebrate!”  Other parents, for perfectly valid reasons, choose the less fanciful approach and focus solely on the celebration of Jesus’s birth – not on roly-poly Santas and skinny chimneys and half-drunken glasses of milk.

Whatever our tradition regarding Santa Claus, let’s focus on what truly matters:  that God loves us all so much that He sent His one and only Son to dwell among us—and to dwell within us.  That is what we celebrate as Christians.

Hear now the voice of Linus, a child created in the imagination of Charles Schultz, as he tells us the true source of our deepest joy.  From the Book of Luke, Chapter 2, Verses 8 – 14:

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not:  for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men.”

MERRY CHRISTMAS, everybody!  May we welcome God’s gift to us with open hearts, open souls, and open minds.

With love,

Lessons from Provence: My Path to Authenticity (Marge Piccini)

December 8, 2010 by · 2 Comments

Marge Piccini“My life is overwhelming. I feel like I’m fighting with everyone including myself. I don’t remember what happy feels like.” Do you have any of these thoughts and feelings?  These sentiments, which can intensify in midlife to the level where they can no longer be ignored, are common for women. What do you do when you’re frustrated and completely out of touch with joy? You recapture it!

Not everyone has the wonderful opportunity to transform their life by stepping out of the routine of it and into picturesque Provence as Marge Piccini did.  Listen in as Marge shares some of the lessons she learned from Provence that helped her recapture her joie de vivre. They can help you too!

About Marge Piccini

Marge helps women rediscover and reclaim their authenticity–who they really are. This reconnection is an essential step towards living the life of your dreams–one with meaning, fulfillment, and joy.

While navigating a period of life transition over 15 years ago, Marge made a profound discovery: everything she was seeking was deep inside of her. Unfortunately, it was locked in a vault and buried so deep that she couldn’t reach it. In 2007, while navigating her most intense life transition to date, Marge found the keys to that locked vault and began to tap into its vast wisdom. Now she teaches others to do the same.

According to Marge, the key to success is authenticity—knowing who you are and the unique value you deliver; being connected to your passion and purpose; and carrying out your dreams and visions for your business and your life. Learn more about her at www.margepiccini.com.

Marge’s Coaching Suggestions

1) Breathe deeply often. When stressed, breathing is shallow and breath does not fill the lungs adequately thus the capacity of the body and mind are compromised.

2) Create a journal and put it into practice each day. I recommend three sections: gratitude, happiness and pride and that it take place in the evening just before bed.

For complete instructions, you can download a free copy of Marge’s Night Time Ritual from my website: www.margepiccini.com, Life.

Marge’s Quote for the Day

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson

Find Your Buried Treasure – Enrich Yourself and the World (Betty Liedtke)

June 23, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Although she’s had an active and fulfilling life, Betty Liedtke found herself questioning her worth and value in the marketplace when, in her mid-50s, she tried–and failed–to identify her own special and unique qualities.

She became doubly frustrated as she attempted to make the transition from popular Toastmasters speaker to paid professional speaker, and from weekly newspaper columnist to author of a full-length motivational memoir. Her two-year quest to find her own special gifts and unique qualifications led to the discovery that what is most special and unique about each of are gifts and talents we don’t even realize we have. They feel so common and ordinary to us that we don’t recognize their existence or value.

Betty now helps other people find their buried treasure and use their gifts to enrich themselves and the world.

About Betty Liedtke

Shortly after her second child was born, Betty Liedtke developed breast cancer, followed by severe heart damage from chemotherapy. These experiences taught her firsthand the importance of attitude, determination, and a sense of humor in dealing with anything life throws at us.

Betty is a writer, professional speaker, and Certified Dream Coach®. She is a Distinguished Toastmaster, a member of eWomenNetwork, and a graduate of the prestigious Loft MasterTrack program from the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis.

She is also the founder and CEO of “Find Your Buried Treasure,” a company whose mission is to help people discover their strength, stretch beyond their ability, and achieve their greatest dreams. One of her strongest convictions is that nothing is impossible if we want it badly enough and are willing to do the work to achieve it.

Coaching Suggestion

Betty suggests using the following steps as a Treasure Map to Find Your Buried Treasure:

1.  Look at everything you do in your life, and ask yourself these questions about each of them.

  • Do I love it?
  • Am I good at it?
  • Is it rewarding in some way (financially or otherwise)?

2.  Identify anything you can do to help you answer “Yes!” to all three questions—and do it.

3.  Pay attention to the things people compliment you on, seek your advice about, or admire and appreciate about you—these are great clues.

4.  Ask yourself:  “What would I dare to try if I knew I couldn’t fail?”

  • Now imagine what steps you’d have to take and what work you’d have to do in order to make that happen.
  • Take the first step.

Betty’s Quote for the Day

“How often in life we complete a task that was beyond the capability of the person we were when we started it.” ~Robert Brault
